Marcus Charles

Entrepreneur in Residence | Special Situation Advisor
Principal | Fiduciary

Marcus has served as principal in dozens of transactions, nearly all with his own capital at risk, across roles as Principal Operator, General Partner, CEO, CSO, and Limited Partner. He co-founded JUJU Joints and served as its CEO. JUJU Joints produced the first disposable cannabis oil vaporizer in the world, building distribution across Washington, Oregon, Nevada, California, and Canada before being acquired by Canopy Growth, then the largest cannabis company in the world.

He opened and sold several hospitality brands, including Local 360, and led the investor group that purchased and reopened The Crocodile in Belltown, serving as general partner through its first years back in operation before transitioning to a limited partner role as new management took over day to day operations. He grew Capitol Hill Block Party from a neighborhood party into one of Seattle’s signature summer festivals before selling his share, and co-founded what is now Marymoor Live through the operating company Seattle Event Solutions, which started as the concessionaire and ultimately displaced AEG Live as promoter of record at the property.

In 2020, Marcus sourced The Crocodile’s current building at 2505 1st Avenue and negotiated the lease ahead of the venue’s 2021 relocation and expansion. In 2026, the venue entered court supervised receivership by its new management, and ownership passed to an ownership group from out of state. Marcus’s direct involvement in that process now informs his advisory work with founders in transition and with creditor controlled businesses.

At Atlas St. Ventures, Marcus is the primary point of contact for sourcing, advisory, and transaction activity. He advises independently within the firm, and not every engagement involves Peter Saladino directly.
